Building Modern IT Suites: Worcester Sixth Form’s High-Tech Learning Space

For this further education college, creating modern IT suites that foster collaborative learning and support cutting-edge IT facilities was top of the list. Tasked with transforming two outdated science laboratories into sparkling IT Suites, the goal was to accommodate 100 students while optimising practicality and style. Forward Furniture thrives on challenges like these! Our mission was to design, supply, and install practical yet inspiring spaces that met the college’s needs while reflecting its unique identity. With a focus on every detail, we set out to deliver a solution that exceeded expectations. From the initial planning stages to the final installation, we ensured the entire process was seamless, making the transformation stress-free for the college. The Design Process To begin with, we conducted detailed consultations to understand the college’s goals. During this stage, we explored layouts, materials, and finishes to ensure the best possible outcome. As a result, we recommended the Sienna Evolution Bench Desking system – a versatile and sleek solution that conceals visible leads and power sockets, offering a clean and organised aesthetic. Furthermore, to ensure the furniture seamlessly aligned with the college’s identity, we introduced the new Distant Blue metalwork colour option, creating a cohesive and modern look. To complete the look, we incorporated the durable and stylish Storm Skid Base Classroom Chairs for students and paired Sienna Teacher Desks with ergonomic Carlisle Operator Chairs for staff. Additionally, we created 3D drawings of the proposed design, giving the college a realistic preview of how the finished IT Suites would look and function. This helped the college visualise the transformation before installation began.
